Welcome to Hensley Hills!
Located in the beautiful mountains of Northeast Tennessee, Hensley Hills Farm is a family-owned farm built on tradition, hard work, and a love for bringing people together. Our mission is simple: preserve the rich heritage and old-timey traditions of Appalachia while creating memorable experiences for generations to come.
At Hensley Hills Farm, we celebrate the traditions that helped shape our community. One of our greatest passions is growing sweet sorghum cane and making old-fashioned sorghum syrup, often called molasses throughout Appalachia. From harvesting the cane to watching the syrup slowly cook in the boiler pan, we enjoy sharing this nearly forgotten tradition with visitors of all ages.
But our farm is about much more than syrup. We believe in creating a place where families can slow down, make memories, and enjoy the simple things in life. Whether you’re attending our old-fashioned molasses cookin’, listening to live bluegrass music, learning about Appalachian farming traditions, or simply enjoying the beauty of the mountains, we hope every visit feels like coming home.
Our signature events that have been held at our homeplace over the years, such as the yearly Hensley Hills Bluegrass Festivals that were held for quite some time, were created in hopes of bringing the community together for a good time and showcasing the music our family was raised on. Much like festivals from years past, the upcoming Hensley Hills Harvest Festival was created to celebrate everything we love about our heritage—traditional sorghum syrup making, bluegrass music, local artisans, delicious food, and the strong sense of community that defines our region.
As we continue to grow, our vision remains the same: to honor the past while creating new traditions for future generations. We are grateful for every visitor, every volunteer, every sponsor, and every friend who becomes part of the Hensley Hills Farm family.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Hensley Hills!
